SS-31

SS-31, also known as Elamipretide, is a synthetic mitochondria-targeting peptide designed to selectively bind cardiolipin on the inner mitochondrial membrane. By stabilizing mitochondrial structure and reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, SS-31 improves mitochondrial function, enhances cellular energy production, and protects against oxidative damage. It is being investigated for use in mitochondrial diseases, cardiovascular disorders, and age-related functional decline.
